There I was, sitting at the backyard table one late afternoon, pissed off that for the second time, I bought a defective thermocouple for a propane rotissierie I was trying to fix.
I listen to a Radio Shack "emergency" radio powered by 3 double A batteries when I'm doing chores ourside. Due to a broken antenna the little radio would only pull in the most powerful "rock" station(s) and I was resigned to being subjected to the same old gruel - like a punishment I didn't deserve. As I was clearing the table I picked up the ersatz thermocouple and jammed in down into the former antenna socket. I touched the tuner search button to take the usual frequency hike up toward the 100 Mgz neighborhood and something magical happened - my little radio stopped at 99.1 and suddenly a lilting dreamgaze tune floated up into the evening twilight. Where have you been?
I've crossed a wide hot desert, thirsting for fresh music programming that doesn't flog or feint but is an ongoing work of art.
The best programming in Tucson - hands down!
