From Belgium i used to listen every sunday afternoon on the AFN benelux. great moments, great music, great Casey and his jingles and long distance dedications

'AT40 is heard in the 50 States and around the world on great radio stations like...'
'...and on AFN outlets around the globe.' Every time Casey spoke that particular sentence I felt privileged because I was that Dutch high school kid living in the vicinity of an American Air Base in The Netherlands growing up to the big hits from the USA during the 70's. At that time Holland only had one nationwide popular music station. Needless to say that I was glued to the radio on Sunday afternoons listening to AT40. Casey's great voice and the beautiful jingles were the main reasons for me to pursue a career in broadcasting and media. 'The hits from coast to coast' influenced my musical taste forever. As a DJ I played records in a club in my hometown often visited by GI's. I played the music they knew and liked and some of them became close friends even to this day.
