On 02/10/2023 at 7:30 pm my husband and I were providing care to our dear friend under Hospice care. He and I always liked to play a game while listening to 102.7. We would try to name the song and artist before the other person could. On this night he was unresponsive, I knew he was close to death. I sat beside his bed with my hand resting on his chest and said to my husband, " I wonder what song will be playing when Smitty dies." No sooner than those words passed my lips, he took his last breath. The song playing on 102.7 at that time was "Get Ready" by the Temptations. We cried and smiled as it was so "Smitty" to leave this earth while this song played. We left the radio on in his apartment, we couldn't bare to be there without music playing. Please, if you would take a request; Play "Get Ready" on 02/10/24 at 7:30 pm. We'll be listening.
